About the Author
Vance Arnett
I have been writing most of my adult life for other people and purposes other than entertainment or enlightenment. Now I no longer work for other people, I get to write for me and for you. As an applied social anthropologist that worked most of my career in the justice system, I've worked closely with law enforcement, prosecutors, defense counsel, judges, corrections and most importantly the unsung heroes, victims and survivors. In addition to writing, the outdoors is my passion. I'm a fly angler, outdoor photographer and roamer which is odd because I live in the urban core of Tampa, Florida in what is known as the Channel District. In all aspects of my life I develop story.
I see characters everywhere and story lines almost daily. I have learned from all of this exposure. Tampa is rich in all of these. I travel extensively by car with my wife Jane as we go on month long adventures normally to places, we haven't been to before on any road that has less than six lanes. I have been inspired by authors like Pat Conroy, Wendell Berry and Jim Harrison. I have been motivated by friends and family and the magic of everyday life I see all around. me. Thanks for taking the time to explore my work. Feel free to contact me either through my website. I live a simple life with everything I need so the proceeds of my work go to support the victims and survivors of the modern-day slavery that human trafficking represents.
“To really hear what you are saying and to grasp what you mean, it would be good if I shut up, really listened, and thought about what you said before I responded..”
