The Rooster and the Faded Rose
The Smithson Evermore Group is called into action once again. One of their friends has been kidnapped along with a well-known immigration policy advisor. At the same time, they are stretched thin along the border with Canada helping the authorities try to stem the flow of human trafficking that has blossomed since the crackdown on the border with Mexico. Among those women is a young Chinese girl who thought she was destined to work in an office and improve her English. In reality she had been sold as a bride to a wealthy businessman. Somehow all these cases collide as the federal authorities from three countries work to recover those taken. It's a wild ride across thousands of miles.
